A happy developer, thinking out loud.
This is my corner of the web — notes on technology, the craft of building, and the small art of living well while the world figures out AI. I've led engineering teams for a couple of decades, and I still write code on weekends because it makes me happy.
Mostly, I like to tinker, and then think about what the tinkering means.
The questions I can't put down.
When I'm not writing here, I lead engineering — currently as a Field CTO and VP of Engineering. Mostly that means steadying teams through high-stakes moments, helping private-equity firms understand the technology they're buying, and helping companies find real footing with AI. Twenty-four years in, it still feels like tinkering, just with higher stakes.
